Design Modalities

Built for every way people learn.

From self-paced modules to live, facilitated rooms — I design across the full spectrum of learning modalities, and blend them when that's what the outcome calls for.

  • Self-Paced E-Learning
  • Simulation-Based Learning
  • Instructor-Led Training (ILT)
  • Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT)
  • Asynchronous
  • Synchronous

Selected work

Case studies in learning that performs.

A few projects where good design moved real numbers — completion, confidence, and capability.

Corporate L&D · Onboarding

Onboarding, reimagined for Vela Health

Rebuilt a 4-week clinical onboarding into a blended, scenario-based program. Time-to-productivity dropped 38%.

Higher Ed · Curriculum

A data ethics course students finish

Redesigned a notoriously dropped graduate course around weekly decision labs. Completion rose from 61% to 92%.

Digital · Simulation

A branching sim for hard conversations

Designed a manager-training simulation with real consequences. Managers rated it the most useful training they'd taken.

How I work

Learning design is a craft, not a content dump.

Every project moves through the same disciplined arc — grounded in evidence, shaped by empathy.

  1. 01

    Discover

I start with the gap, not the content. Interviews, data, and a clear-eyed look at what success actually looks like.

  2. 02

    Design

Outcomes first, then experiences. I map skills, sequence learning, and prototype before a single slide is built.

  3. 03

    Build

Hands-on production — from storyboards and scripts to interactive modules, facilitator guides, and assessments.

  4. 04

    Measure

I close the loop. We watch behavior, not just smile sheets, and iterate until the learning sticks.

Services

Ways we can work together.

Instructional Design

End-to-end course and module design, from learning objectives to polished, accessible deliverables.

Curriculum Strategy

Competency frameworks, learning pathways, and content models that scale beyond a single course.

eLearning & Multimedia

Interactive modules, simulations, and video — built in the tools your team already uses.

Facilitation Design

Workshops and instructor-led programs with everything a facilitator needs to deliver with confidence.

Learning Measurement

Assessment design and evaluation frameworks that prove learning changed something real.

Advisory & Audits

A fresh, expert read on your existing programs — what's working, what's not, and what to do next.

Nairi has a rare gift: she makes complex material feel obvious without making it feel shallow. Our learners didn't just pass — they changed how they work.

About

Hi, I'm Nairi.

I'm a Los Angeles–based educator and learning experience designer. For over a decade I've coached international English learners at some of California's top universities — teaching everything from academic and business English to pronunciation, advanced writing, speaking, American culture, and TOEFL/IELTS preparation.

That classroom is where my design philosophy was forged. Working one-on-one with people learning something genuinely hard taught me what actually helps it stick — and I bring that same human-centered instinct to the courses, programs, and digital experiences I build today, now amplified by AI.
